Official Announcement: BYU-Hawaii Distance Learning to be replaced by BYU-Pathway Worldwide

Due to changes within the Church Educational System, BYU-Hawaii is announcing that its Distance Learning Program will be replaced by BYU-Pathway Worldwide programs over the next couple of years. The Distance Learning program will reduce classes and offerings through the 2018 and 2019 academic calendars. BYU-Hawaii Distance Learning course offerings will be reduced as follows:

  • Fall 2018 Semester: English as and International Language (EIL) courses will be offered to new and continuing students. Other non-EIL courses will no longer be offered to new students. Continuing students can enroll in non-EIL courses. New students will be referred to BYU-Pathway Worldwide or BYU-Idaho Online to pursue academic courses.

  • Winter 2019 Semester: EIL courses will be offered to new and continuing students. All other non-EIL academic courses will no longer be offered. All students wishing to enroll in academic courses before attending BYU-Hawaii will be referred to BYU-Pathway Worldwide or BYU-Idaho Online to pursue academic courses.

  • EIL Courses: As soon as EnglishConnect is available through BYU-Pathway Worldwide, BYU-Hawaii will no longer offer Distance Learning EIL courses. It is anticipated the EnglishConnect will be available for the Fall 2019 semester.
